To top things off 100% of the proceeds from your booking will go towards funding our charity. After Umbrage is a charity whose vision is to provide free, short breaks for anyone who has been looking after family members or loved ones with life-limiting or terminal conditions. To date, we have welcomed over 1260 carers with their loved ones and made such a difference to people’s lives. A large proportion of our funding comes from paid bookings of our delightful cottage. That means by booking your holiday with us, you’ll be directly contributing to furthering our vision and help fund future breaks for carers. Now that’s a win-win.
Even if you don’t decide to stay with us you can still help our charity. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and even just spreading the word to friends and family can go a long way. Without your help, we can’t provide care and support for people caring for someone with a terminal illness. There are lots of ways to get involved, so find one that suits you.

Our Charity
Named after the founder’s mother’s Teddy Bear, After Umbrage is a charity whose vision is to provide free, short breaks for anyone who has been looking after family members or loved ones with life limiting or terminal conditions. We’re here to benefit anyone who is looking after a loved one with a life-limiting condition (or who has been recently bereaved) and is in need of a break. Which from experience is all carers. We have a beautiful cottage just outside Bath called Kingham Cottage and a fabulous period property in Oundle which we offer free of charge for up to four nights for anyone in this situation. Each applicant is allowed up to two stays at a Cottage. Since 2016, we have gifted over 1260 carer stays.
