Nestled away amongst the rolling hills of the Midford Valley, just outside Bath, lays the charming Kingham Cottage. Set in the idyllic rural countryside, this beautifully converted former farm building, bursting with character and heritage, offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A stone’s throw from Bath, this gorgeous, self-catering holiday cottage offers a taste of the British countryside.

Kingham Cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps four adults comfortably. Our cottage is also dog-friendly, suitable for small dogs making it the ideal rental accommodation for the whole family. The rental cottage features exposed beams, stained glass windows, oak floors, and original exposed stonework making it the perfect holiday accommodation. If you’re able to tear yourselves away from the beautiful interior to explore the local area, you’ll find yourself surrounded by luscious countryside and only five minutes from Bath city centre; a world heritage city.

To top things off 100% of the proceeds from your booking will go towards funding our charity. After Umbrage is a charity whose vision is to provide free, short breaks for anyone who has been looking after family members or loved ones with life-limiting or terminal conditions. To date, we have welcomed over 1260 carers with their loved ones and made such a difference to people’s lives. A large proportion of our funding comes from paid bookings of our delightful cottage. That means by booking your holiday with us, you’ll be directly contributing to furthering our vision and help fund future breaks for carers. Now that’s a win-win.

Even if you don’t decide to stay with us you can still help our charity. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and even just spreading the word to friends and family can go a long way. Without your help, we can’t provide care and support for people caring for someone with a terminal illness. There are lots of ways to get involved, so find one that suits you.

Near the entrance of the cottage is a small cloakroom with WC and washbasin.

The living room is spacious and light, having windows on two walls and an open plan to the hallway and the oak staircase, which winds up to the first floor. There is an inglenook fireplace with log effect gas burning stove, TV, video and CD player.

There is a comprehensively fitted kitchen featuring a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer. The attached dining area features a beautiful large wooden table. Meals can also be taken on a secluded patio.

Upstairs are two beamed and vaulted bedrooms. One is a double bedroom with washbasin and breath-taking views down the Midford valley, the other features two single beds.

There is a spacious bathroom with a power shower, as well as a freestanding bath.

Sit and relax round the patio table and enjoy the beautiful views over the valley.

We’re here to benefit anyone who is looking after a loved one with a life-limiting condition (or who has been recently bereaved) and is in need of a break. Which from experience is all carers. Each applicant is allowed up to two stays at a Cottage. Since 2016, we have gifted over 1260 carer stays.
