‘Bear’ necessities
A teddy bear’s picnic, a party with a bear theme for children or adults, or a bake sale of bear shaped cakes and cookies. All these gatherings can be with friends and family, with colleagues in your workplace or your wider community.
Can you organise a desk picnic, for instance, and add a playful game with a teddy bear theme, such as name the teddy bear competition?
You will be helping us meet the financial bare necessities to keep After Umbrage going. We have lots of ideas for creating fundraising events with a party bear theme:
Give as you live and shop
Donations can be generated via sponsorship or your next shopping spree. We have madeit easy for you. We have partnered with ‘Give as you Live’ to help fundraisers raise money easily and efficiently. It’s perfect for big events, managing personal challenges or remembering loved ones.
For shoppers – of any kind – from supermarket shopping to big retailers like John Lewis – when you check out our charity can cash in. A percentage of the value of your shopping is donated to us when you sign up to either Easyfundraising or Amazon Smile. The bonus is there is no cost to you.
Donate
We rely on your generous donations to fund our work providing needed breaks to carers. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated, and help those who are all too often overlooked. You can donate directly to After Umbrage, and we urge you to consider renting beautiful Kingham Cottage for your own holiday. We reserve it for private rentals for up to three months each year, and the proceeds go directly to the After Umbrage charity. You’ll not only have a marvellous holiday, but know you’ll be giving an opportunity for a much needed rest to some very deserving people as well.
Active fundraising
Like our Founder, Tara, you may opt for full or half marathons to raise money. We have partnered with Run For Charity to offer you choice at reasonable prices and without the crazy fundraising targets. There are so many events across the UK to choose from, even bungee jumps for those who are adventurous. Take a closer look:

We firmly believe that if more people knew about After Umbrage and the good work we do, we would have the support we need to expand our operations and bring help to the members of communities all over the UK who work so hard to care for those they love in their final days. If you would like to help but can’t spare a lot of money just now, one of the best ways is to let others know about us and the good work that we do. If you have access to a publication, or know someone who is willing to provide publicity for a good cause, please contact us and let us know. Even a mere website link can bring attention our way, and make the important work we do that much easier.
