There are lots of different reasons why people run for charity. Some run for a cause they care about, or that is close to their heart. Others run in remembrance of a loved one or friend who was supported by a charity’s good work.
Will you run for After Umbrage?
Then, let’s face it, some of us run because we want to lose weight, and need an extra, positive push to get us off that couch! Running for a charity is a fantastic motivator for getting healthy and avoiding beer and chocolates.
But whatever your reason, running for a charity is an amazing thing to do, and should definitely be on your bucket list.
Will you choose After Umbrage to support unpaid carers?
After Umbrage needs your help
We are one of over 160,000 registered charities and foundations in the UK. It’s tough getting noticed. The relationships we have with friends, supporters, donors and organisations are very precious to us for good reason. They give us a much-valued audience and amazing support. They come in all shapes and sizes, from those with tens of staff to the one-man bands working out of their bedroom. And all of them are amazingly special.
Has a caring role touched your life?
Our Founder set up our charity because of her lived experience of being a carer. Does that resonate with you? Would you consider a fun run? A bungee jump even? There are lots of family-friendly events available so that you can run for After Umbrage. Here are some ideas…

Once you reach the end of the Towpath, you shall turn left and enter Home Park for roughly 5k before a sprint finish inside the Palace grounds.
We need your help
We’d love you to run for After Umbrage. The funds you raise will directly support people like Atiq from Bradford and Jane from Devon. We’ve hosted 315 unpaid carers and their families at our holiday cottage since 2013 when we opened the doors to unpaid carers. Your fundraising will help us repeat that in the coming years. We’re very grateful for your support.
