Any charity ball brings volunteers, donors, and generous supporters together to celebrate. In our case, in advance of the After Umbrage Valentine’s Charity Ball, we would like to acknowledge and thank these generous people for their support and illustrate how you can join them.
The Charity Auction
For this, our fourth charity ball, we have assembled a selection of auction lots that offers something for everyone. Are you looking to find a special Valentine’s gift for your partner or bid for an event that is rarely available? You might be seeking to give your favourite room in the house a 2023 makeover with new home furnishings or bringing friends and family together to celebrate a special milestone. We will have a charity raffle as well as a selection of auction lots. Here are a few to whet your appetite:
Our supporters
There is an array of local support for After Umbrage. We’d like to express our gratitude to these special local businesses in particular.
Chris Woodford from Woodford and Co – Chris will be our auctioneer on the night. He has been a frequent support of After Umbrage and has gathered a group of friends to join his table. We thank him for his support and advice with regard to the purchase of a future local holiday cottage for unpaid carers.
Emily Hannan of Osprey Property has been supportive over the long term. She knows how helpful she has been with the future plans of After Umbrage. She will be joining us with a table of friends too.
Sam Harper of The Rounded House, has given generously over the years to help us furnish Kingham Cottage with beautiful soft furnishings and finishing touches. Her eye for style and comfort has given our holiday cottage the homely, cozy feel we want for our unpaid carers who stay for their respite break. On the night, Sam donated a generous gift voucher so you can win a voucher to buy items from her selection of kitchen and bakeware, throws, garden accessories, candles, decorative items, and much much more.
Mark Clayton is the Director of Southwell Racecourse. The racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue located two miles east of Southwell in Nottinghamshire. It is one of only six racecourses in the UK to have an all-weather track. He has donated a table for up ten people at the recourse for a fabulous day of racing. This prize is valued at £900 no less.
Kelly Hetherington of Dawson of Stamford is donating a beautiful piece from their collection. They are a family jeweller located in Stamford, Lincolnshire. As well as an extensive collection of gold jewellery, silver jewellery antique estate jewellery and watches Dawson’s also specialises in antique furniture and decorative interior pieces. Gorgeous!
Want to sponsor part of the charity ball?
The ball is a charity ball. With the high cost of products and services these days, it’s tougher than ever to cover the costs and raise a fundraising total. With that in mind, we’d like to offer individuals and organisations the opportunity to help us cover some of the upfront costs of creating such a special event. If you feel you’d like to help, please drop tara@afterumbrage.org.uk an email. We’ll make sure we announce and share your donation both digitally and on the night.
