One of our amazing beneficiaries, Hannah Roberts and her family have made a donation to After Umbrage. They gave us a special mention at their son, Elijah’s baptism. Their family and friends have made the donation collectively. We thank them warmly.
To accompany their donation they sent a heart-warming note that we’d like to share with you.
This is the note from our beneficiary, Hannah Roberts
“In 2019 our world was turned upside down when our son at 8 weeks old was fitted with an emergency tracheostomy. As Christians, we have been repeatedly amazed and encouraged in the midst of challenges we have faced by the provision of God. One way in which we have felt our needs being met is through the work of After Umbrage.
We wanted to give thanks and recognition for the work of After Umbrage. When Elijah was baptised this month we asked our family and friends to join us to make a donation to After Umbrage. We hope that this gift will help you to continue to make a difference to others as you did to us in our time of need. It is as a small thank you from our family for the restful time we enjoyed at Kingham Cottage.
We were so thankful for our two stays at Kingham Cottage earlier this year. Each time we benefitted from a chance to recharge our batteries. We spent quality time as a family, and had an opportunity to explore some beautiful scenery. The work of After Umbrage is crucial in enabling carers to receive a much-needed rest and thus continue to care as needed.”
We send heartfelt thanks to Hannah, her husband James, daughter Maddie and son Elijah. Thank you for telling your family and friends about us and for their wonderful donation. This will help keep the doors of Kingham Cottage open to carers for free breaks.
